The Vatican: Alien Life May Exist

Writing in the Vatican newspaper, the astronomer, Father Gabriel Funes, said intelligent beings created by God could exist in outer space. The search for forms of extraterrestrial life, he says, does not contradict belief in God.

The official Vatican newspaper headlines his article 'Aliens Are My Brother'. Funes went on to state: "Just as there are multiple forms of life on earth, so there could exist intelligent beings in outer space created by God. And some aliens could even be free from original sin."

Interesting, I think. The Catholic church rarely makes a public statement on a topic unless it has a reason. Could it be the Church has some type of proof of aliens locked away in the Vatican library? Or perhaps they have seen something in the skies? Stay tuned...the apocalypse is upon us.

Skull Bong

Willie Simms, a child who died in the 1920s, has been resurrected. Kind of. It seems three teenagers in Houston, Texas dug up the body...severed its head...and used the skull as a bong. You can't make this stuff up.

A Change In Focus: Charles Fort

Those of you who were into the weird and the bizarre prior to the internet revolution should be quite familiar with Charles Fort and his infamous book, The Book of the Damned penned in 1919. This book was basically a collection of weird phenomena that had been reported world wide yet could not be explained by scientist. A typical example of this phenomena would be UFO sightings.

The validity of the reported phenomena can be debated. However, whether these strange things actually occurred or not misses the point. Fort was more concerned with what these strange tales reflected upon the sociological make-up of humanity. After all, what is reality? If 100 people claim to see something, is it real or not?

A few months ago I subtitled this blog, Notes From The Apocalypse. On a personal level my poetry can be viewed as the apocalypse of the individual. It has nothing to do with the biblical concept. Basically an apocalyptic time is a period when things are revealed that were previously hidden. My poetry deals with the revelation of the self and the blatant honesty of a person living in perpetual chaos.

I have decided to expand my view of the apocalypse, and not only include my poetry and prose in this blog, but I intend to occasionally bring news stories around the world that reflect the chaos that exists in the world in the form of the weird and the bizarre. Some of it will be humorous, but most of it will have an underlying current of seriousness.

So while we all sit back and think we live in a perfectly ordered world that scientist and psychologist pretend they have a grip on, I will be bringing you stories (some personal & some global) that will prove science is just as blind about some parts of reality as they were in the dark ages. Sociologists and psychologist will be proven to be even more in the dark. I am not concerned with what can be proven to be real or not. I am concerned with what this strange phenomena says about you and I as individuals and as a whole.

I strongly suggest that as a starting point, The Book Of The Damned be read.
